It was back in 2002 when the group first started working on the lighthouse that the lens was found lying in a corner in pieces on the third floor. The group then reassembled it for permeant display. This lens was in use at the lighthouse from the 1940s to 1997 when it was replaced by a solar powered VRB-25 optic.
