The Lantern
The lantern for the Los Angeles Harbor Lighthouse is shown at the foundry before being placed atop the lighthouse. It is unknown if the man standing next to the lantern is a foundry employee or a U.S. Lighthouse Service employee. After being placed atop the tower, the lantern was lighted for the first time on March 1, 1913. (National Archives image.)
