Michael T. Burke served as a keeper from 1874 to 1879 at the Sandy Hook East Beacon Lighthouse shown here. Sometimes referred to as the North Hook Beacon this lighthouse was discontinued in 1917 and later moved to become the Jeffrey’s Hook Lighthouse in New York. It is now more commonly known as the Little Red Lighthouse under the Great Gray Bridge. Back to the edition of: Nov/Dec 2018
