Photo Caption:

This Dunlap Reef beacon, which replaced the traditional Dunlap Reef Lighthouses had a definite problem with ice. Apparently the people at the top thought the structure was stable enough to climb so they could get their photo taken at the top. This structure with its acetylene light no longer stands and was replaced by a structure of similar design that now stands on display on the grounds of the Door County Maritime Museum in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.
