The USS Constitution, also known as Old Ironsides, is a wooden–hulled, three-masted heavy frigate of the United States Navy. Launched in 1787, it is the world’s oldest ship of any type still afloat. The restored ship is still staffed by the U.S. Navy and is homeported in Boston, Massachusetts. Lighthouse keeper Joshua Crosby was a gun captain on board the famous ship during the War of 1812.
