New Jersey's popular and historic Cape May Lighthouse, one of America's oldest continually operating lighthouses, recently celebrated its 150th birthday with a party hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts.
To show how just sturdy and strong the old tower still is, the tall beacon opened its doors to allow people to climb the 199 steep and spiraling stairs to the top. For the big event there was story telling, live music, book signings and dignitary presentations. A birthday can not be complete without a cake, which was eaten as fast as it could be served.
Happy Birthday Cape May Lighthouse!
