Thanks to the efforts of the dedicated folks at Wisconsin’s Door County Maritime Museum the historic 1870 Cana Island Lighthouse is being preserved for future generations.
This past fall some major restoration work was completed
at the lighthouse, which included replacing the windows in
the lantern room, sealing the seam of the steel cladding that encases the original brick tower and repairing the plugged vent ball at the top of the tower.
