The lighthouse was built to help define the 17-acre island as a destination for tourists as well as boaters. The lighthouse is part of a plan to develop the 28-acre span of shoreline adjacent to Clover Island that will include a carousel and mixed commercial, retail and residential development. The project is being led by HDJ Design Group PLLC of Vancouver, Washington who shared these photographs with us.

The public officials of the Kennewick City Council are to be congratulated for approving the project. The lighthouse will have a functioning solar powered LED beacon and will serve as a private aid to navigation.
