It seems that just about everyone loves shipwreck books, including me. However, one of the problems with many shipwreck books is that, while the photos may be dramatic, the text is either too boring or way too technical for the average reader. However, the new book, Sea of Troubles - The Lost Ships of Point Sur by JoAnn Semones is not one of them. Sea of Troubles – The Lost Ships of Point Sur, kept my interest as I read page after page of fascinating text, which is something I was totally not prepared for. I couldn’t put the book down.

It was obvious nearly right from the start that the author had done an immense amount of research in locating the historic images to make this book a reality. I guess I should have expected as much, because JoAnn Semones’ previous books, Shipwrecks, Scalawags and Scavengers and Hard Luck Coast, were also very well done. But, in my humble opinion, she outdid herself with Sea of Troubles – The Lost Ships of Point Sur and I would highly recommend it. Sea of Troubles – The Lost Ships of Point Sur is a hardcover book with 229 pages and black and white photos. It is available through Lighthouse Digest for $27.95.

All these books are available online at www.LighthouseDigest.com or by mail at P.O. Box 250, East Machias, ME 04630 or by calling 207-259-2121. Shipping charges are listed on the inside back cover of this issue.
