This 1939 photo shows the Pollock Rip Lightship at the Chelsea Lighthouse Depot in Massachusetts. The photo was labeled as the Light Vessel #110. On the left side end of the dock are two 15-ton combination gas and whistling buoys, and a number of spar buoys can be seen lying on their side. This photo would have been taken very close to the time that the U.S. Lighthouse Service was dissolved and its duties were taken over by the U.S. Coast Guard.
