The museum in this dwelling/lighthouse is maintained by the Nelson Head Lighthouse and Rescue Station Trust. It contains exhibits furnished by the Port Stephens Historical Society including photographs and artifacts mostly covering the WWII years in Port Stephens. Tea rooms and the Coastal Patrol headquarters are adjoining.
