Earlier Towers? 1885: 21-foot wooden tower on breakwater; served as a sector light. Date Established: 1885 Date Present Tower Built: 1901 Date Automated: 1963 Current Use: Active aid to navigation. Open To Public? Grounds only. Directions: From Route 219, take the Margaree Harbour Shore Road. Turn right and follow to the end of the road at Margaree Harbour. Climb the hill to the left to see the lighthouses. Keepers: Roderick McLellan (1901-?), John L. Mackinnon (1952-1963, was caretaker 1963--1970).
