Notes: Pulau Rondo, a small island off the tip of Sumatra, is the northernmost (and westernmost) point in Indonesia. Indonesia's first "tsunameter" was placed here in December 2005, one year after the tsunami that ravaged northwestern Sumatra and a number of other locations around the Indian Ocean. Tower Height: 131 Height of Focal Plane: 633 Characteristic and Range: Three white flashes every 20 seconds; range 24 nautical miles. Description of Tower: White skeleton tower.
