Another view of the Four Mile Point Lighthouse keeper’s house as it appeared in the 1930s. The house was built in 1750 by a sea captain who sold it to the U.S. Lighthouse Service in 1831 to be used as a residence for the keeper. A century later, after the Four Mile Point Lighthouse was discontinued, the government sold the house to the Greene family. The sale included a Pilgrim hutch and dining table, two heart and crown Pilgrim chairs, and a collection of trivets. (Courtesy Vedder Research Library, Green County Historical Society.)
