The inscription on William Asbury Crockett’s gravestone in the Long Bridge Road Cemetery on Tangier Island is a testament to the love of his wife and family. Asbury was also a mason as shown by the symbols inside the shield-shaped ornamentation that is the same shape as the U.S. Lighthouse Service shield. Back to the edition of: Jan/Feb 2021
