After he left Assateague Island Lighthouse, Jessie’s husband, William Collins was transferred to Cape Charles Lighthouse, which is shown here from a 1962 Coast Guard photo in the archives of Lighthouse Digest. Built in 1895 it is the tallest lighthouse of its construction type in the United States and following behind Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in North Carolina it is the second tallest lighthouse in the United States.
