Advertising cards have been popular in America nearly since its beginning; an idea that was imported from Europe. One of the most popular was cigarette package insert cards. However, many other businesses also used them. This card featuring the Eddystone Light House was issued by Guppy & Kinsman Druggists and Pharmacists in Augusta. Unfortunately, we don’t know which state they were referring to.

If you have old advertising memorabilia that you’d like to donate for our files and possible publication, you can send to Lighthouse Digest, PO Box 250, East Machias ME 04630.

This story appeared in the April 2004 edition of Lighthouse Digest Magazine.
