At 3,491 feet, Mount Greylock is the highest mountain in Massachusetts. This tower was erected by the State of Massachusetts in recognition of the loyalty and sacrifice of the state's war veterans. It has a light at the top. It resembles a lighthouse and is often referred to as a lighthouse. The tower was restored in 1999.

Open To Public? Yes.

The auto roads are currently closed for safety and access improvements. The War Veterans War Memorial Tower is closed. During this period the Visitors Center and trails remain open. Full operation and access to all these facilities is scheduled to resume in 2009. For more details, see the park web site.
