It is now leased to the Crisp Point Lighthouse Society, a nonprofit, charitable organization that has been formed to restore and preserve the lighthouse. The society is leasing the light in 40 year increments. Once on the Lighthouse Digest Doomsday List, this lighthouse has now been saved.
