There have been three lighthouses on Pictou Island, located about 7.5 miles offshore. The West End Light is now a skeleton structure. Tower Height: 23 Height of Focal Plane: 46 Characteristic and Range: White flash every 4 seconds, visible for 6 nautical miles. Description of Tower: Red skeleton tower with red and white rectangular daymarks.
