This is the westernmost lighthouse in Australia. Dirk Hartog Island, named for a Dutch East India Company captain who landed there in 1616, is part of the Shark Bay Marine Park. Access to this site is extremely difficult. Tower Height: 49 Height of Focal Plane: 127 Characteristic and Range: Three white flashes every 15 seconds. Description of Tower: Conical, unpainted concrete tower with white lantern.
