Notes: The lighthouse was transferred to the Friends of Doubling Point Light under the Maine Lights Program in 1998. The Friends raised funds and received a matching grant from the Kurt Berliner Foundation to repair the foundation of the lighthouse in late 1999. The keeper's house is privately owned. Tower Height: 23 Height of Focal Plane: 23 Characteristic and Range: Flashing white every 4 seconds. Description of Tower: White octagonal wood tower with black cast iron lantern.

Date Established: 1898 Date Present Tower Built: 1898 Date Automated: 1988 Optics: 1902: Fifth order Fresnel lens; now 300 mm. Original Fresnel lens is now at the Shore Village Museum, 104 Limerock Street, Rockland, ME 04841, phone (207) 594-0311. Fog Signal: 1898 fog bell and striking mechanism in fog bell tower. Current Use: Active aid to navigation, private residence. Open To Public? Grounds only. Directions: From US Route 1 north in Bath, turn right on ME 127 immediately after crossing the Bath Bridge. Turn left at the bottom of the hill and continue over the Arrowsic Bridge. Continue for about a mile to a dirt road on your right. This is Whitmore's Landing Road; it is just past a sign for Reid State Park. If you pass Arrowsic Town Hall on the left, you have missed the turn by about 200 yards. Turn into Whitmore's Landing Road. At a fork in the road turn left on Doubling Point Road. Continue to the light station where there is limited free parking. If coming from the north, follow Route 1 and turn right on ME 127 just after a Cumberland Farms gas station. Continue over the Arrowsic Bridge and follow the directions above. Cap'n Fish's Whale Watch and Scenic Nature Cruises, leaving from Pier One in Boothbay Harbor, offers cruises that pass the lighthouse station; call (207) 633-3244 for information and reservations.
